create pages with predefined content
-
hello wordpress,
I have a client that have a WP blog with static pages only and I created some design for the pages and implemented them (chNged the page content to match the new design). Now the client want to create a page of a certain design and he wants an option from where when a new page is created it must have the default content for that type of page. I hope this is not confusing. How can thiz be done? Can you give me some suggestions?
Thank you for your time.

I’m not really sure what you mean by ‘default content’, but you might want to look at Templates:

Thank you for answering. I have 3 templates one with sidebar, one without and one with a top slider. The client want to create new pages but he doesn’t want to add the html code to the content, he want it to have the content prepopulated with one of the five html content templates the designer created. So when he add new page he want an option for chosing the content design, somehow.

So, they want to be able to choose from 5 page templates of HTML/attributes, then fill in their own text?
If so, two ideas come to mind.
> Create the 5 page templates with code only and save them with appropriate page titles. Make them private so no one can view them. Have the customer choose the one they want and use it as a template using the Writing Helper >> Copy a Page on the Add New page.
> Have them save the 5 templates locally on their computer, then Copy/Paste the one they want to use into a New Post form.

Thank you for your answer. The Writing Helper >> Copy a page it is the thing I need. Unfortunately I don’t have this on my Add new page. I use WP 3.4.2.
In the Screen Option I don’t have the Writing Helper module. Can you help me with this problem ?
Thank you.

Oh for pity sake! You are posting to the wrong support forum. That’s a WordPress.org install. WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and different. I’m sorry but we cannot help you here at WordPress.com with that site as it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com and we run on different software. This is the correct forum for your software http://wordpress.ORG/support/ If you have not registered a WordPress.org username account yet you can do so on the top right hand corner of the page I just linked to so you can post to those support forums.

Best wishes with your site. -
The site linked to your ID ( http://mafiotu48.wordpress.com/ ) should have it as well as any site ending in wordpress.com.
If you’re talking about a site other than somesitehere.wordpress.com, we really can’t help you.

I am sorry. I will register an account on the wordpress.org . Thank you for all the help.
Best wishes,
