Creating a blog within course site

    I have created a site for a course I am teaching, which includes all the information students need for the course. In addition, I would like to create a blog, reachable from the site’s homepage, where the students can post on their own. I can’t figure out how to add a page that is a blog to the more general site; can anyone tell me how to do this? Thanks!
