Creating a new paid wordpress com with referral link

    Hello.
    I am creating my first paid wordpress.com blog using a referral link. But when checking out the card, I am not seeing the $25 waived off from my initial purchase, as written on the referral link I was given.

    I am doing things correctly? Or the $25 off is available only after I purchase my plan?

    Hello

    I got the link from my friend, which retrieved it from his wordpress dashboard in the Refer a friend section.

    But I finally sorted it out myself. The link only works with wordpress accounts created via the link in the browser. Existing accounts (even if created 2 minutes ago without going through the link) do not get the $25 waived off.

    I believe that WordPress should specify this clearly as it only says, I quote:

    your $25 in credits
    Start your own blog or website with WordPress.com
    and get $25 off your first purchase.
