creating new wordpress domain for existing live domain currently hosted elsewhere

  i currently have a live non-wordpress domain that is hosted elsewhere; I want to create a wordpress domain to replace the existing live domain and want to buy the premimum (top tier) wordpress service. how do I handle keeping the current live domain while I develop the new wordpress site?

  I would just wait until you have the new site all built before you set up domain mapping. As soon as you are done, follow these instructions to switch the domain:
