Creating Real Estate Website

Not exactly a problem so much as a question about creating a Real Estate Website for an agent here at our office. I have used WordPress for a personal travel blog and can easily see themes that would be great for a REALTOR looking to update and modernize his current blog so I told him to take a look at your themes. He’s asked me to help build it but I’ve never done this. Are there any good recommended resources out there for a customizable wordpress blog specifically geared toward Real Estate or any widgets Real Estate related? We’d need an IDX feed for sure for our MLS system. But I just need to find some reliable/trustworthy resources on how to get started building this website using WordPress. Any recommendations on books/tutorials/blogs/videos would be appreciated!

The blog I need help with is not, in fact, newlynewtons.com – The blog I need help with doesn’t exist yet. Newlynewtons.com was the site I used as my personal travel blog. Very basic.

In order to do this you would need the IDX Plugin that is only available on WordPress.org, not WordPress.com, which is where you are at now.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities. At WordPress.com, we provide hosting, support, and tons of features for blogs. Users also have the option to purchase a variety of upgrades to customize the look and feel of their blog. WordPress.org is a software for self-hosted sites. With WordPress.org, users are provided access to all backend files and can upload custom themes and plugins (which is what you need).
