Creating TXT record for Amazon SES verification
-
I have purchased domain upgrade and added my domain instascribe.com to my blog instascribe.wordpress.com. For that I have switched the name servers to wordpress.com. Now, I need help in inserting a specific TXT record in DNS.
I want to use Amazon SES for sending e-mails and for verification of the domain, I need to insert a txt record. Amazon provides the TXT record in the following format
Name of the record: _amazonses.instascribe.com
Value of the record: (Some text here)Your DNS system lets me enter only a text for TXT record. I have tried entering a text “_amazonses.instascribe.com=(value text)” But that isn’t working and Amazon is unable to verify the record.
What is the correct way of entering the above TXT record?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
When you need to include a name or host for your TXT record, you can do that with this format:
TXT include:<host> <value>
I went ahead and entered your TXT record in that format in your Custom DNS editor. Please give it a little time to propagate (usually it takes a few hours) and then you can check to see if Amazon has verified your record.
If that doesn’t work for you, please let me know and I’ll take another look. :)

Hi there,
Sorry, I was mistaken in my previous message. It looks like our Custom DNS editor can’t accept TXT records that require a name or host like that. I’m checking with our team now to see if we have a way to enter these for you. I’ll let you know as soon as I find out more about this!

Hi there,
We’ve added this TXT record for you, since it can’t be added in the Custom DNS editor. Please give this record a little time to propagate and then you can verify your domain with Amazon.
Please let me know if I can provide any further help with this. :)
