    why is putting up products on a website so expensive?

    WP.com: Yes
    Jetpack: No
    Correct account: Yes

    There is no way around but if you want to use a third party plugin – as e.g. WooCommerce – on the wordpress.com platform, you must upgrade to the Creator Plan. This is due to the fact wordpress.com is on a shared platform. Sites able to use third party plugins, are on an individual platform.
