Critical error after installing the WordPress Media Tags plugin

  I installed the WordPress Media Tags plugin (my mistake, I read afterwards that it ma not be compatible with latest versions of WP).
  Now, on most admin pages, I get the message ‘Jetpack can’t communicate with your site due to a critical error on the site.’

  I can access the dashboard but cannot deactivate plugins (I can open the plugin page but when I click on Deactivate or Remove I get the message ‘An error occurred while removing WordPress Media Tags’).

  Any suggestion on how to remove the plugin in any other way? Or how to roll back the latest changes?

  Solution found: I deleted the plugin via SFTP.
