Currently unable to add media to new posts, even after disabling all plugins and reinstalling wordpress [WP 5.7]

  I’m trying to add media to a new blog post I’m trying to make. But the Gutenburg editor is currently heavily distorted, with none of the CSS loading on the backend at all. The icons are all hovering on the left side of the screen on a grey background, there is no ‘editing area,’ just the blocks hovering on the same grey background, and all the material that is normally in the sidebar now exists below all the blocks. Attempting to add media to the posts just opens up all the uploaded media to the site in a single, long, vertical row that is partially obscured by the left-hand column of the WP-Admin backend.

  I have done the following in an attempt to fix this issue:

  – Deactive all plugins (no change)
  – Reinstall the current install of WordPress (no change)
  – Reinstall an older version of WordPress [5.6.0] (no change)
  – Run an incognito version of my browser, in case there’s browser settings screwing up the editor (no change)
  – Try an alternative editor plugin (can edit text, still having the same problem with media)

  Please advise!

  The site you are referring to appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on an outside web hosting company Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

  To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and and other web hosting companies also happens to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here.
