Custom 404 for WP hosted blogs

  My blog is hosted BY WordPress. Can I get a custom 404 page set up?

  I have recently had to take down an article, but the URL is widely circulated. I’d like something a bit more interesting than the standard ‘not found’ if possible!

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Hi there,

  The 404 page used for your blog depends on the theme you use. For blogs hosted here at WordPress.com, you can’t make changes to the theme files and templates, so you aren’t able to create a custom 404 page.

  If you have to remove a post or page and don’t want it to result in the default 404 page, you may want to remove the post or page content instead of deleting the post or page itself. You could then replace the content with your own custom message.
