Custom Colors not showing up

I’m editing my website with the ‘customize’ button at the top, and clicked ‘colors’ on the left-hand bar but I don’t have many color options. On my personal site, more color options appear for this same theme. How do I resolve this issue?

for some reason the form i submitted linked this thread to the wrong blog, I need help with the following:
    documentinghurricaneharvey.org

  • Hi there,

We can’t help directly because we don’t host documentinghurricaneharvey.org on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site.

Instead your host (GoDaddy) uses the open-source variant of the WordPress platform which functions differently than what we offer here on WordPress.com.

For example, with the pre-installed themes we offer on WordPress.com we sometimes load more color choices than you would see if you use the same theme on a self-hosted WordPress site like the one you have with GoDaddy. This is why you see more options on your emmanueltedwrites.wordpress.com site than you do on documentinghurricaneharvey.org

The good news is that help is available here at the open-source WordPress forum for your theme: https://wordpress.org/support/theme/textbook/

Although the same color options can’t be installed on your theme (similar to what we have on WordPress.com) in that forum you can get help with tweaking things via CSS code. Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
