custom DNS records

Our domain is hosted though wordpress. However, when I do into out domains I no longer see it listed nor do I see our DNS records. Could you help us resolve the issue?

You would not see DNS records for a domain that was just mapped here. DNS exists at the registrar where you have the domain registered.
That said, I do not see an active Domain Mapping upgrade for your account. I see that there was a Domain Mapping upgrade, but that it was canceled on 2016-10-04.
Would you like me to reactivate that?

Hello. I still am not able to access the domain setting and domain setting. We purchased our domain tdpbaltimore.org through wordpress and at this time, we don’t have access to our domain setting or DNS records through wordpress. I would like to get access to it again. Can you help.

We purchased our domain tdpbaltimore.org through wordpress
tdpbaltimore.org is not registered through WordPress.com, it is just mapped here. Domain Mapping is the upgrade you would purchase if you wanted to use a domain registered elsewhere (GoDaddy or 1and1 for example) with your WordPress.com site. According to the WHOIS info, tdpbaltimore.org is registered through godaddy.

we don’t have access to our domain setting or DNS records through wordpress.
You will need to log into your account at GoDaddy to modify DNS for tdpbaltimore.org. Because it is not registered through WordPress.com, DNS cannot be modified through WordPress.com.

I spoke to GoDaddy and they said that since WordPress is the name server that I would have to go through WordPress in order to do this.
Also back in September of this year, I was able to access my DNS records through wordpress in order to set us my email account. However, now I don’t see my domain anymore. Did I loose an upgrade or something?

Godaddy has given you incorrect information. In order to change DNS, you need to go through the company where the domain is registered. As I mentioned previously, tdpbaltimore.org is registered through GoDaddy:

You have domain mapping set up for tdpbaltimore.org. Domain Mapping is the upgrade you would purchase if you wanted to use a domain registered elsewhere (GoDaddy or 1and1 for example) with your WordPress.com site.
If you had your domain’s nameservers set to point to WordPress.com and wanted to set up email through your registrar, you would follow these instructions to set up MX records:

And yes, that is something you would do on the WordPress.com end of things (and that you should still be able to change now if needed).

I am trying to have the domain I purchased – tdpbaltimore.org to be used as my email through Google Suite. I am trying to make sure it will be properly directed.

In September of this year I was able to access the domain setting, change some of the DNS records to create email address for my staff with this domain name. We want to change the records and move google suites. However, upon looking at his in December I don’t see the domain that we paid for here, only the domain mapping for tdpbaltimore.wordpress.com. What are some ways to be able to access the DNS records in order to make a custom email with tdpbaltimore.org?

Megan A. Right now it looks like it’s registered with Go Daddy. You would have to log into Go Daddy to change the records. I do see that we still have a mapping record associated with the domain but the domain is currently pointing to squarespace

Just so I’m clear, are you trying to host the tdpbaltimore.org website on SquareSpace or on WordPress.com?

I would like to switch the name server to another site, probably Go Daddy who hosts the domain. Square Space doesn’t do this. I just need access long enough to the DNS records in order to change the name server.

Okay, despite what GoDaddy told you earlier, if you want to change the nameserver to point to a new webhost (such as godaddy or squarespace), you will need to do that through GoDaddy. That is where the domain is registered. Nameservers can only be changed through a domain’s registrar.
