Custom email address
-
Hello,
I’m wondering if it is possible that every time a user creates an account, it also registers a custom email address on my website?
For example, if John Smith registers an account, it will also create a custom email address: (email visible only to moderators and staff).
Not sure if there are any plugins that allow this.
Thank you!

Hi there,
Email addresses are automatically redacted on these forums for security reasons, but staff can still see them.
You don’t own any sites on WordPress.com, so I’m guessing you’re working with the open source WordPress software instead. Support for that version of WordPress is found here:
https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
That said, what you want is not possible that I know of. Email is not a feature of the WordPress software. To have any email address @yourdomain.com you need to speak with your host about the options they offer to add email to your domain, and that might involve getting the actual email hosting from a third party provider like Zoho or Google – not all web hosting providers offer their own email hosting as well.
How many different inboxes you can have (which is what you’re asking for here – for each person to have their own unique inbox, rather than just having a bunch of aliases that all go to one inbox), would depend on the email hosting plans available at the email provider you go with.
It’s possible such an email provider might have a WordPress plugin that hooks into the user database on your site and creates new email accounts as new user accounts are created, but personally I’ve never heard of anything like that, so it’s best to look at the different email hosts out there and ask them directly if they have anything like that, or know of any third party solutions that integrate with them in that way.
