Custom field in the Dashboard

  I have set up a company blog site in which we will have several authors. Most of the authors are new to blogging and need a little hand-holding. I thought it would be helpful to have a custom note in the dashboard area that gives suggestions on what to blog about, tips and tricks, etc. Is there a plug-in or app to do something like this?
