custom font

Hi, i have a custom font that’s in a .tff format that I’ve been using in word to create flyers and business cards. I want to import the font to use in my wordpress.com website but can’t seem to find a way to do so. Where can I find up to date information on using custom .tff fonts in a wordpress.com site?

    Thanks,
    Kirtane

  • Hi there, while it’s not possible to import your own fonts to WordPress.com, with the Custom Design upgrade, you can use Typekit fonts. You can either choose a font from the ones we supply, or use your own Typekit ID in Advanced Mode.

Just let me know if you need further help.

Thanks for your help. I looked into that but I’d really like to find a way to use my custom font as I’ve used it in the past and it would help build continuity in my brand. Is there any way to do this with css? I’ve also been considering attempting to build my own site via wordpress.org but I don’t have very much programing experience so I’ve been trying to keep it simple. If I were to go that route tho, would I be able to upload custom fonts on wordpress.org?

    Thanks,
    Kirtane

  • Hi Kirtane, there isn’t a way to use your own font on WordPress.com, even with CSS. We don’t allow font files to be included in CSS.

With a self-hosted WordPress.org site, you can do whatever you like. :-) If you have any questions about implementation, feel free to post in the .org forum: http://wordpress.org/support/
