Custom headers not loading

I am new to WordPress but I am an experienced software engineer and web designer.
My issue is I am trying to add custom headers to several pages on my friends site. It looks like they just upgraded to 3.6.1 and there are some pages where the custom headers were already defined and they are working.
What happens is either by uploading or from the media library I select an image and add it to the post. This puts me back in the editor and shows the URL to the image but curiously no thumbnail.
I preview the page and no image is displayed nor is the element to contain it displayed. If I press update the URL is removed and the Custom Header section is blank.
The theme is from MNKY and is called ProMotion.
Any help is greatly appreciated.The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That site is NOT a free hosted WordPress.com blog and our support documentation does not apply to it. You are posting to the wrong support forum. We provide support ONLY for free hosted WordPress.com blogs and that’s not one of them.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate and have different log-ins. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
