Custom wordpress.com domain migrate to blogspot

  • Unknown's avatar

    Hi there,
I’ve been purchasing the WordPress premium bundle for the past 3 years and I would now like to move my hosting to blogger (blogspot.com). I’ve read up on how to transfer a domain name to a different registrar but I can’t seem to receive any authorisation code via email.
Do I need to transfer my custom domain name to a site like Godaddy.com first before I can use the domain name on Blogger?
I have already exported my posts/pictures to my blogger site — all I need now is my custom domain.
    Thank you so much !

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It looks like you never verified your email address associated with the domain amigurumei.com. I’ve resent this verification email. Here’s some info about what it looks like:

    Register a New Domain

    Please RESPOND TO THIS EMAIL.

All you have to do is click on the “Verify your email address” button.

Once you’ve done that you’ll be able to receive the email code to transfer your domain.

Hi there Shawna! Thank you so much for the prompt reply.

After completing all my registrar transfers succesfully, and also pointing it to a new Blogger hosting site, I realised that I had yet to map all of my previous posts to the new Blogger links.

Just so that I don’t lose traffic in the interim, I was thinking of moving my custom domain http://www.amigurumei.com back to my previous wordpress blog (amigurumeidotcom.wordpress.com).

I have since been unable to do that so far, and I think I may have been inputing some wrong nameservers.
When I type in amigurumei.com now, it brings me to the wordpress support page that says:
    “Incorrect A Record
The A Record for amigurumei.com is set to a WordPress.com nameserver. Instead, you should remove all nameservers for your domain and specify the WordPress.com nameservers below to map your domain name to a WordPress.com blog. For instructions and some important warnings before making such a change, please see this document.”

Would you know what I can do to point my custom domain back to wordpress for now? No one can access my old wordpress blog at all.

    Your help is greatly appreciated!

    Mei

    Hi Mei,

I checked your domain http://amigurumei.com/ and it’s correctly pointed back to your WordPress.com site now. (It can sometimes take a few days for domain changes like that to take effect everywhere.) Please let us know if we can do anything more to help!
