    Hi there!

I’ll start with the two specific changes you mentioned:

    1. You can add a favicon for your site under Settings > General in the site’s WP Admin dashboard. In the upper right there, under “Blog Picture/Icon,” you can upload an image to be used as your site’s favicon. (You can also learn more about where that image will appear around WordPress.com on our Blavatar support page.)

    2. The credit to WordPress.com you see in your site’s footer is required to be displayed according to our terms of service. Note that even sites hosted through our VIP program, such as the TED blog, display a credit to WordPress.com in the footer.

However, you can use Custom CSS (part of your Premium plan) if you’d like to change the style of that text to make it match your site better. If you’d like more help with that, the expert staff and volunteers in our CSS Customization forum can give tips for finding the CSS you need to customize your site’s theme.

You also mentioned looking for a way to edit the PHP from your dashboard. WordPress.com sites are a bit different from self-hosted WordPress sites using the free software from WordPress.org. At WordPress.com, there isn’t access to edit the WordPress or theme files directly. Instead, you can use the Custom Design features in your Premium plan to make those customizations.

Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
