Is it possible to establish a login screen for people to log into my site and keep a registered activity report and put their name on things. I’m attempting to create a site where people can come on write on sentences at a time and collaborate on each others stuff with the originator being the admin for each specific blog or story. I want the stories to be searchable and everyone having edit capabilities with a revert button in case the originator wants to go back and undo someone’s changes.

That’s not possible on a free hosted WordPress.com blog. You need to hire a web host and set up your own WordPress.org install. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.
