Customize design tools will not load and haven't for over a day. Why?

  I recently decided to change the theme on my site. When I try to load the customize design tool bar, it won’t load. I have tried using two different browsers and multiple themes.

  It looks like you haven’t selected a specific static page to use as your front page – or perhaps you deleted the page you previously chose. The Customizer only works when a front page is defined. You can choose one under Settings > Reading:
