    Hi there,

WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features that were inspired by popular plugins. Chances are, the feature you are looking for is already there! You can search our support site via this link:

    Home

For any features on WordPress.com, the support page will explain how to set it up.

It is not possible to install plugins on WordPress.com, for security reasons. Plugins can only be installed on self-hosted WordPress blogs. If you are wondering how WordPress.com differs from WordPress.org, this support article explains the distinction: WordPress.com and WordPress.org

If you don’t find what you are looking for, just let me know what you’d like to achieve with a plugin, and I’ll help you find a solution.

It isn’t there and I’m now annoyed. Half my features are missing!

If you can let me know what features you’re looking for, I can help you figure out if there are similar options here at WordPress.com.

These are the items listed on my dashboard

    Hi there,

As I mentioned earlier, it isn’t possible to install plugins here at WordPress.com, for security reasons. That’s why you don’t see a “Plugins” section in your dashboard.

However, WordPress.com has a lot of built-in features inspired by plugins, so if there’s a particular feature you’re trying to add I can help you find out if it’s already available here.

If you’d prefer to have plugins, you may be more interested in setting up a self-hosted WordPress site using the free software from WordPress.org. We have more details about the differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here: WordPress.com and WordPress.org

In that case, we also have a guide for moving your site from WordPress.com to a WordPress.org site here: Moving a Blog
