This is an issue I have had before, and it seemed to persist for several days, and then fixed itself. It is now occurring again.

I am unable to access the Dashboard, edit posts and pages, or create new posts and pages. I have tried on Internet Explorer, Firefox, and Chrome, all fully updated. All plugins are up-to-date, and I have tried clearing the cache and cookies.

My blog is http://jonhylton.com, hosted on WordPress.com.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

    2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

    3. Do you have third party cookies enabled?

    4. Do you have JavaScript enabled?

    5. You can use this link to see if your Flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not up to date then this is where to download and install the latest version of Flash. http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/

    6. Have you had any recent operating system and/or security program updates?
Sometimes operating system and/or security system updates can cause problems so check for known issues.

Actually, it randomly started working again. I am not sure why. However, in the interest of maybe finding the cause, I will still answer your questions.

    1. It varies. I am a college student, and access it via all of the above (minus dial-up, thankfully). I also access it from different ISPs depending on where I am, but the problem persisted across all of them.

    2. It automatically uses https://, although I also tried http://.

    3. Yes.

    4. Yes.

    5. Flash is up to date.

    6. I have had no updates in at least a week.

I spoke too soon. It stopped working again.

I have no additional troubleshooting tips to offer. Here’s the link for contacting Staff http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.
