Data Loss in Blog

    Hi folks, Guten Tag!

I believe, there was some data loss in my blog.
I run a german blog (moopenheimer.wordpress.com) where I introduce one of my collections items every day.
As I link between these articles I ran into a missing article when trying to pingback to one of them.
Going back the dates I found a gap between March-31 and April-3. So, April 1 & 2 are missing. I know, that one of these has been named “Kiautschou”, but I don’t know, what the other one was.
Is there any chance for you to check some older Checkpoint from my data to restore these two days’ articles?
I would aprreciate to get them back as there was a lot of work to create them.
I am sure, there is no browser issue or browser temp files etc. as the photos I included into the article a marked “unused”. So, this clearly looks as if the article itself got lost. If it was in the recycle bin, there should have been an evidence, but all formerly deleted articles are still there.

An extremely unhappy status, especially as I run now at 86% of my capacity and planned to upgrade shortly. This now got postponed as I am not sure, if my work is secure.

Any help or hints are appreciated.

    Best regards,

    Tom. moopenheimer.wordpress.com

    Hi Tom,

According to our records, you trashed the post titled “Kiautschou” on April 7, 2014. I see that you also trashed a post published on April 1 at the same time.

If you want to restore a post from the trash you can do that for a time, but trashed posts are deleted permanently after 30 days. We have more about that here: Trash

We’re not able to restore posts once they are permanently deleted. However, you can try to restore them by searching Google for a cached version of the post. For example, I found a cached version of your post “Kiautschou” in Google here:

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:sBfe4HqFH_wJ:moopenheimer.wordpress.com/tag/kiautschou/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk

I also found your post from April 1 here:

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:abVXnbRygTcJ:moopenheimer.wordpress.com/tag/tarzan/+&cd=1&hl=en&ct=clnk

I hope this helps! Please let me know if there’s anything more I can do.

Rachel, this worked fine. Hail Google !!! Still I don’t believe, I did delete these articles.
Working in storage business myself I know, how critical the loss of data can be. So I appreciate your fast and professional response. Is there any feedback form I can fill out to make you rich and famous?

    Best regards, Tom.

    Hi Tom,

I’m so glad I could help you recover those articles. If I knew of a feedback form that would make me rich and famous, I’d definitely share it with you! :)

In lieu of that, though, we do share positive feedback from our users on our Support site here: http://en.support.wordpress.com/hugs/

If you’d like, you can reply here with your feedback and we’ll post it to that page along with your first name and a link to your blog. If you’d rather not do that, the kind words you already shared are thanks enough for me. :)
