Database/Profile website

  I want to create a website where people create profiles with a log-in and password and other are able to search for people from a database. Is that something that can be done with wordpress?

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  I’m afraid that is not functionality that WordPress.com offers.
