    Hi,

I’ve got a problem mapping my domain smartbau-kg.de to wordpress.com’s dns servers.

It’s the same issue as described in this post:
    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/is-wordpresscom-domain-mapping-compatible-to-de-domains?replies=3

    Thanks for your support!

Any idea who I could contact in this issue?

    Thanks
    Daniel

  • I’m seeing a Zone Record for smartbau-kg.de. So if that is the issue you should be good to go.

Let me know if you have any trouble.

    Hi Rootjosh,

thanks for your reply. Unfortunately, the issue still exists, as DeNICs Nameserver Check fails (http://www.denic.de/en/background/nast.html) with the following reasons:

    Messages:
    Severity Code Message / Parameters
Warning 110 Retry value out of range (expected, found)
    [1800..4800]
    7200
Error 118 Inconsistent set of NS RRs (IP, NS host names)
    /192.0.80.93
    [ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com, ns1.wordpress.com]
Error 118 Inconsistent set of NS RRs (IP, NS host names)
    /69.174.248.148
    [ns2.wordpress.com, ns3.wordpress.com, ns1.wordpress.com]

In another case, probably the same issue was solved by adding a zone record:

    Thanks again,
    Daniel

  • I’m not seeing any issue on our end. As I say, there is a zone record already. So that shouldn’t be the issue.

Have you talked to your domain registrar and asked them to look into it? Also, they may be able to set up IP mapping using an A-Record for you. The best way to map a domain to a WordPress.com blog is to set your domain’s nameservers to the following values:

    NS1.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS2.WORDPRESS.COM
    NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

However, if your registrar requires that you create A records, please note that our IPs change over time. Because of this, your domain might stop working at some point in the future. If that happens, please get in touch with us to find out the most current IPs and then update your A records accordingly.

If you still want to go ahead and map your domain using A records, please be sure to create at least two, pointing to two different IPs from the list below:

    192.0.81.250
    76.74.254.120
    66.155.9.238
    76.74.254.123
    66.155.11.238
    192.0.80.250
