Deactivate a plugin
-
I can’t log in to my WordPress dashboard because a plugin is interfering with the login. I’ve never used WordPress.com hosting before. Is there a file manager type function available like you would have with a C-Panel where I can manually remove or rename the plugin? Or is there a way to FTP into the files to fix it?

Hi there!
I don’t see any sites under your account; what’s the address of the site you’re working on?
Please note that these forums are for WordPress.com-hosted sites only. If your site is using the open-source WordPress.org software, we won’t be able to help you out, and you’ll want to seek help at these forums:

Hey @amijan123,
I would love to assist you, but in order to keep threads on topic and prevent the OP from receiving email notifications, I wanted to see if you could create a new post?:

The site is https://cakingliteraryservicesllc.wpcomstaging.com/
I need to know how to deactivate or at least disable plugins without being able to log into WordPress. I would normally do that through the hosting account and the file manager in Cpanel.

Hi there,
I do not see any sites under your @markrr1 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.
Is it possible you created your site under a different login? I can confirm that cakingliteraryservicesllc.wpcomstaging.com is a WordPress.com site, but it is under a different account, and not your @markrr1 login.
Do you not recall your other WordPress.com login? If you switch to that account you will be able to access the site as normal. If you do not recall your password for the other WordPress.com account, you can reset your password here: https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php?action=lostpassword
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

I’m a web developer that is working on this site that another person created. Maybe it’s under dcolemn at gmail.com? But I don’t have access to his account.

You can ask the owner of that site to ‘invite’ you as an admin. Have them follow the steps here: https://wordpress.com/support/user-roles/
Be sure to ask them to invite you as an “administrator” using your
markrr1username, and this will give you full access to the site so you can complete your work. Hope this helps!
