Deactivated Account
-
Hi there, I had another WordPress account that I wanted to use for my freelance business and was planning on upgrading. However, after working on it for a while I realized that I needed to completely restart. For some reason, I thought it would be best to delete the site and simply create a new one via the same email and username that was originally used. However, its been over a month and I’m still not able to use either that email or username for an account. Is it possible for me to reactivate this account at all? Or create a new one? I need to keep that same username and email as they both are associated with the brand I’ve been building.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
Thanks for writing to us. I’d love to help get this sorted out. Can you tell me which username or which site was deleted? That’s where we need to begin.

Hi there,
The account username and site have both been deleted for more than 30 days, and per our policy, after 30 days, deleted WordPress.com sites and accounts are purged from our system and cannot be restored by the owner or any other person.
The best option at this point is to create a similar username and blog URL. In regards to the site, you can always register a custom domain (i.e. erinldrummond.com) via a paid plan:

The old email has been purged and you should be able to use the email address again. Please confirm if you are unable to do so.

When I go to create a new account using the previous email, it says “Choose a different email address. This one is not available. If this is you log in now.”

Hi there,
I had to update something on our end – the email should now be free to use. Please try again and let me know if you still have any trouble.
Thanks!
