Delete

I want to delete my account and I can’t find the way to do it. At https://en.support.wordpress.com/deleting-accounts/ they suggest I change my password to a random string, but that’s not what I want to do. I want my account deleted the same way I can do on any other web. Can anybody help me?

The link you’ve seen is correct. Accounts are not deleted so they can never be recycled and then used by someone else who could impersonate you. By disabling the account it is as good as deleted. But before doing that you need to delete your empty site. Personally I would just click on “Settings” and make the site private. That way you don’t get a “nomadnotary.wordpress.com is no longer available.
The authors have deleted this site.” message showing on the Interweb forever. You may find a use for it in the future and once the site address is deleted you cannot register that same WordPress.com address again. -
