  I really need to delete my account so that I can relink my domain name to a different site.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  You can point the domain you registered at WordPress.com to another server (hosting service), with these steps:

  Change a Domain’s Name Servers

  You’ll need to obtain the name server values from your current host. You should be able to find them on their support documentation, or contact them and ask for the information. (Name servers may be referred as “nameservers” or “NS records” instead.)

  Thank you for your response. I have spent hours trying to accomplish this with no success. Is there any way to get phone support with wordpress? I am just getting super frustrated.

  What exactly are you having trouble wish? At what step of the instructions do things break down?

  Also, I would encourage you to not try and cancel your domain registration. That carries a very real risk of losing that domain registration to a domain squatter and not being able to re-register it.
