Delete blog and all that is associated with it.

I am not an experienced blogger and no little about the technological aspects. I tried to update my blog without backing up stuff because I couldn’t figure it out. I immediately received a 500 Internal Server Error. This prevented me from accessing my dashboard. I read some of the forum solutions but I don’t understand them. I am not using my blog and I know I am being charged for some things. I just want to get rid of the whole thing but don’t know how. Any help would be appreciated.

  • I’m sorry, but http://www.mythotstoday.com/ is not hosted at WordPress.com. As such, we are unable to provide any direct assistance in this manner.

The fact that the site may have been built using WordPress, or may mention ‘Powered by WordPress’ (or something similar) simply means it is using the WordPress.org software, which can be downloaded and installed on any web host.

If you’re interested, you can learn more about the difference between WordPress.com and WordPress.org here:

I would recommend getting in touch with your host or domain registrar for support, or checking out these resources if your site was indeed built with WordPress software:

HI – I purchased a domain and registered with with Host “ABC”. I added it to a WordPress site with domain mapping so we would have a unique url. I am now using another program (WordPress had communication issues with our bank code) and am hosting the site with “ABC”. I cancelled the domain mapping with WordPress. Now, no matter that we changed pointers and name servers, whenever I enter alaskawpa it goes to a WordPress message saying alaskawpa.wordpress.com doesn’t exist. Now I can’t seem to get it to work with the ABC”. How long does it take WordPress to let go of my domain that I registered with “ABC” ? HELPPPPP I need my site up.

  • @alaskawpa,

I checked and verified that the mapping has been disabled and it appears that the nameservers are pointing back to the the original domain host – so, everything is set from this end. It can take up to 72 hours for nameservers to propagate, so that may be the reason you were still getting the WordPress message. I checked and it looks like the domain is pointing away successfully now.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

    Thanks!
