Delete old domain

    My domain has expired with wordpress, I would like to reuse the same domain with another web building platform but apparently the domain is unavailable. How do I delete the domain through wordpress? Domain i would like to delete is http://www.minkasvarcs.com

    Hi there!

    Your best option is to retrieve this domain through us here at WordPress.com, wait out the transfer lock period if it’s engaged, and then transfer your domain to your new registrar.

    Domain expiration is a lengthy and complicated process that takes about 80 days. During this time, your domain may be put up for auction or sold on back-order. You can learn more about domain expiration here:

    Recover an Expired or Cancelled Domain

    The good news is that we may still be able to recover your domain if it has not yet been deleted or purchased by someone else. A late renewal fee of $80 may be added to the regular price of renewal. This fee is charged by the domain registry and is not one which we can waive.

    If you do not wish to pay the $80 fee you may let the domain expiration process continue and attempt to register the domain again at the regular price once it has expired completely in another ~40 days.

    Please note that someone else may purchase the domain first, in which case you will be unable to register it again, but if you prefer this option just let us know and we’ll be happy to provide you further instructions.
