Delete wordpress site – confirm website is not linked

    I have a wordpress site hosted by my web developer. I created this WordPress account and don’t see my site connected – https://performancematters.ca/

    I was planning on permanently deleting this account but then saw all the cautions. Can you confirm that I can delete this account and that my active website (https://performancematters.ca/) won’t be also deleted?

    The site I need help with is performancematters.ca/. It is not hosted by WordPress.com, but it is connected with Jetpack. This site is not linked to my WordPress.com account.

    Hi there,

    The site performancematters.ca appears to be a self-hosted WordPress (also called “.org”) site hosted on Webnames.ca Web Hosting, and not a site hosted on our WordPress.com service.

    To clarify, we are not the only providers of WordPress sites, and other hosting companies also happen to offer WordPress sites, but they use a different version of the platform than what we use here. See http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ for more info.

    If you wish to close your @hbrownpmi user account on WordPress.com that would be just fine. It would not affect your site on Webnames.ca since we are not associated with that hosting provider.
