Deleted Account
-
Hello, I recently deleted an account because the blog associated with that account is no longer relevant. However, I would like to use the same email address to sign up for another account but was unable to.
user email: (email visible only to moderators and staff)
I have now set up another acccount using my corporate email but I would like to change this to the above email that I have stated above.
Please advise what I should do. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The account connected to that Gmail address has not been deleted, but is still active on our system and owns two sites.
To delete that account you’ll need to log into it first, and then request an account closure via the account settings page. However, that will not immediately free up the email address either, as that will only happen when the account’s data is completely deleted a few weeks later.
The other option is to log into that account and change the email address to something else. That will immediately free up that email to use with this, or another account.
If you don’t remember your login details for that account, you can find our account recovery options here:

Thanks Kokkieh. I have done the necessary. how long does it take for the old email to be flushed out of the system?

It’s about 30 days. I hope this helps! In the meantime, you’re welcome to use an email alias on the account. Simply add +1 before the @gmail.com, like so:
(email visible only to moderators and staff)It will deliver to your regular email address, essentially allowing your account to function as if it had that address already. You can technically add +whateveryoulike and it will still work that way.
