Deleted admin account
-
We had a virus reported and wanted to strengthen our security. We read about some brute force attacks so deleted the generic ”admin” username administrator account (leaving two other admin accounts for staff). This prompted a question of deleting the previous admin posts or attributing them all to one of the other accounts, which we did.
Now when trying to post new info, we get the error message ”You are not allowed to edit this post.”
Is there a way to get admin back, or fix this?

The brute force attacks were and are on WordPress>ORG installs, like your site and not WordPress.COM blogs hosted here. Read the comparison here please http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
We do not provide support at WordPress.COM for any installs of WordPress.ORG software. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs being hosted right here on this multiuser blogging platform.
WordPress.com and WordPress.org have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

You’re welcome and best wishes. BTW there an excellent security video webinar for WordPress.org users here > http://blog.siteground.com/wordpress-security-webinar/
