Deleted domain and can’t retrieve it

    I deleted my domain (purchased through wordpress) before the expiry was up, and have since discovered I need access to my custom email that was linked to the account for security verification purposes. Am I able to recover this domain ASAP?

    From what I can see you cancelled thedesignprojectandco.com on 6-27-2022.

    Normally when a domain is cancelled it is sent back to the registry to prepare it for resale, but the domain itself is not available to the public for a period of 60-80 days. The good news is that your domain is still in this “redemption period” where we may be able to recover it, but there will be a late renewal fee to do so.

    When you say “we may be able to recover it”, does this mean I could pay the invoice and there still be a chance it won’t be recovered?

    Hi there,

    To clarify, the “redemption period” for expired/canceled domains is a period where the domain is at a wholesale auction where other domain companies can also purchase it.

    As the original registrar of the domain (before it was canceled), we can recall the domain while it is in redemption, but the possibility always exists that someone may beat us to it.

    In that event, there would be nothing we could do to recover the domain, and we would refund you.

    That said, this domain is pretty early in the redemption process, and we have good luck recovering it, especially if you act quickly by submitting your payment.
