Deleted old WordPress account, didn’t transfer site

  As title says, about a month or so ago I changed my business name and created a new account to admin my site, foolishly I have deleted the old account but it’s still “site owner”, I can’t use the WordPress or Woocommerce apps now as my new account isn’t the owner. I have access to my domain account but a friend of mine is managing the host side of things. Is there anything I can do?

  It looks like this domain was registered in July and has never been hosted or connected to a site on WordPress.com.
  Did you use a different domain before with that deleted account?
  Or are you referring to a WordPress account you used to access the site from alphaspawprintz.uk/wp-admin?

  I’m asking because there is common confusion about WordPress.com and WordPress.org, while they are actually two different entities.

  We, WordPress.com, are a cloud-based platform where we manage WordPress sites, whereas WordPress.org is stand-alone software that you can download and self-host with any other hosting.

  So I used to have applevickersstickers.com, changed the domain to alphaspawprintz.uk, but Jetpack/Woocommerce/Wordpress is still connected to my old applevickersstickers admin account, but the actual account is deleted, and I tried to use the auto recovery form, it goes round in circles, “this account doesn’t exist, make a new account?” And then I try making a new account and it says “account already exists, try resetting password” or something along those lines.

  Okay, so I can see that the account applevickersstickers was deleted so the Jetpack connection was severed. The site alphaspawprintz.uk is still connected but to a different WordPress.com account.

  If it’s your account, you can use the Account Recovery form from here, to recover access:

  https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/.

  If that’s the account of your friend, you will want to connect the new domain to your new account (alphaspawprintz) by following these steps:

  Thank you so much, I just disconnected Jetpack and reconnected to my new account, and now both my WordPress and Woocommerce apps are working as should be. Thanks again!
