Deleted site but need media back

  Hello, I deleted a site a week or two ago but realized I need the media from the site and although the posts are still available in the account I’ve created the site for, the images are not showing up and appear as broken links. Is there any way to remedy this?

  Hi there,

  What is the site URL? I do not see a deleted site that was connected to the account you were contacting us from – do you have another account that the site was connected to? if so, please post in this thread under that account, and I will look into recovering the site for you.

  Yes, the site is under a different account, I can post this thread from there. It appears that the issue is that the account was on a Business plan and then got reverted back to the free plan, is it common to lose all of the media in this case? The posts still show up in the wordpress.com dashboard, but the image links are all broken.

  ^ The above is the account where the media is missing from. As mentioned it was reverted from a Business Plan to the free plan and the media was lost.

  It appears that the issue is that the account was on a Business plan and then got reverted back to the free plan, is it common to lose all of the media in this case?

  It can happen, and support will note this when you downgrade and advise that you back up content first. Did you get a chance to do that?

  Ok, I wondered about that. I don’t believe that was done, is there any way to revert or restore those images? I saw somewhere that if it’s caught within 30 days it’s possible.

  We’ve confirmed they mentioned that in the chat. If a site is *deleted* then we can restore that within 30 days, but changes like this may not be possible to revert. We’ll try to confirm with our Business support team for you, though.
