Deleting a blog created by a third party.
-
In 2015 a paid SEO consultant created a blog that I now need to delete. It was later combined with my active blog so we now have the problem with Google and duplicate contact. I can’t figure out how to delete the old one and the person that created it is not responding to my inquiries.

Hi houseplanguy,
Can you send a link to the site you wish to delete?
It’s worth noting that we won’t be able to delete the site or make any changes without permission from the current owner. If you send a link to the site, I can double check whether it is hosted on WordPress.com or not.
Thanks!

Thanks — monsterhouseplans.wordpress.com is owned by another WordPress.com account. Do you still have access to the account email address? Or are you unable to remember any login information?
-
I have the email and password. I just can’t find any place that I can use to turn it off.
-
Okay, please try the following:
- Log out of your houseplanguy account
- Clear your browser cache
- Clear WordPress.com cookies
- Login with the email address or username for your other account
You should then see the option to “Delete your site permanently” at the bottom of the Settings page:
https://wordpress.com/settings/general/
Let me know how you get on.

Hi there,
I have the email and password. I just can’t find any place that I can use to turn it off.
If you have the login details for the account that owns that site, please log into that account, and then reply here as that account.
But we can do nothing more to help until we have confirmed you really have access to that account.
If you don’t have the correct credentials to log into that account, then please see our account recovery options here:
That is the only way we can give you access to another account.
-
I don’t know how to do that. Unfortunately I am just the business owner. Please let me know how to get my credentials to you for verification.
-
You will see a Log Out button if you view this page:
Then log in as the other account.
Please under no circumstances ever send your login credentials to anyone, including support staff.
If you are unable to log into the other account, the only other option is the account recovery form, as I explained above. If you also cannot provide the verification information we require in that form, we won’t be able to give you access to the site to delete it, and we will not delete it on your behalf either.
