Deleting a website

  Hi there, I need to close down our old business website but I do not have any of the log in details as the staff have now left the business … can somebody help me PLEASE!!!!

  You’ll have to proof one way or another you are the owner as wordpress.com doesn’t shut down sites on demand. Take a look in your bank statements, you can use the transactionID to restore access to the account owning your business website at https://wordpress.com/support/account-recovery/

  This is proving a nightmare as we have already looked for this, old email addresses are no longer valid and even the telephone number is no longer valid, and I think the website is a free one …
