Deleting all content from site, (I have too many posts to do it myself)

  • Unknown's avatar

    I would like to delete all content from my site. Deleting several posts at one time is taking me forever as I have over 3,000 posts. On top of that issue, then I have to re-do that whole process by permanently deleting them from my trash. Could someone in technical support please help me out by just wiping / deleting my site, but allow me to keep my site / url? Thanks – Kathleen

    Staff can empty the whole blog for you. That will remove all data including posts, pages, tags, categories, comments, and uploaded files and once deleted, the data cannot be recovered.

    If you are sure you want Staff to proceed, then type modlook into the tags in the sidebar for Staff attention and post again to this thread to:

    (1) confirm the URL of the blog you want them to empty;
    (2) confirm that you know content deletion is irreversible.

    IMPORTANT NOTE: Deleting blog content does not remove it from the SERPs (search engine page results). Google and Bing only clear their caches of deleted indexed content that produces a 404 (page not found) every 3 – 6 months. To completely remove an entire page from Google search results: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/1663419?hl=en

    Hi Kathleen,

    Because emptying a blog is irreversible (as timethief mentioned) I just want to be sure we don’t make any mistakes. :) Can you please reply to confirm:

    1. Exactly what blog you want to empty (please give a link to the blog)

    2. That you know this is permanent and can’t be undone.

    You can read more about this here: Empty Site
