Deleting an admin

  Dear WordPress forum,

  I created a website for a colleague, and am now trying to transfer it to them. I have added them as an admin, and asked them to delete me as an admin. However, when they try to do this, they get an error message:

  ‘There was an error deleting XXX’

  Please do you have any advice on what to do about this? For background: I currently have admin status on two wordpress sites – my own website, and then this site that I am trying to transfer to my colleague. Both are free sites without paid-for domains.

  Any advice that you can give would be very much appreciated!

  It sounds like you’re the owner of the site you’re trying to remove yourself from.

  You’ll need to transfer the site to a new owner first: https://wordpress.com/support/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/
