Deleting an admin user

    I am responsible for a wordpress website for a group. The website was created by another person but she is no longer involved in maintaining it. Both of us are administrators on the site and I would like to delete her from it. When I try to delete her from the site, or when I try to change her user role to something other than administrator, I get an error message that says ‘There was an error removing/updating @username.’ She is no longer involved with the site and it doesn’t make sense for her to be a user, let alone an administrator. How do I delete her from the site?
    We tried having her transfer the site to me using the instructions here (https://en.support.wordpress.com/transferring-a-site-to-another-wordpress-com-account/) and it didn’t work. I still can’t delete her as a user.

    Hi there,

    What is the site, and what is the username you’re trying to remove? It’s not possible to remove the user who created a site, as that user is the site owner. The only way to remove the owner is for that account to transfer ownership to another admin.

    If they’re not able to transfer ownership, we’ll need them to contact support directly so we can help them with that, but we cannot make changes to the site ownership at the request of a non-owner admin on the site.
