Deleting Categories

Hi There – I am trying to delete categories from my blog. How do I do so? All the tutorials online are not for the version of the WordPress Customizer that I have. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

1. To edit or delete a category assigned to a post (whether it’s a draft or has already been published), go to Dashboard → Posts → All Posts in your dashboard, hover over the title and click the Edit link. To delete the post click the Trash link.

2. To edit/delete categories in your dashboard go to Dashboard → Posts → Categories

* You will have to replace “name_of_blog” with your actual blog’s name in that URL.
3. To edit or delete dynamic category pages in your custom menu go to Dashboard > Appearance > Menus

4. To edit or delete Tags go to

The combined total of categories and tags assigned to any post must not exceed 15 or it will not display on WordPress.COM Categories and Tags pages and in the WordPress.COM Reader. Never assign the same keyword as both a category and a tag as they are considered to be the same for search engine purposes. And then there’s always my way. Click on “Settings” bottom left of your menu and then “Writing” top middle which should get you where you want to be. ……Hi timethief :)

It’s also the place in the Calypso dashboard where all your Categories are listed and you can edit or delete them from there just like in the wp-admin dashboard which new users won’t be familiar with.
