Deleting Parked Domain

    I created a domain through WordPress, and about an hour later I realized that I wanted to switch my website builder to a different website builder. Is there any way to remove this domain from WordPress and transfer it over?

    Hi there,

    Are you speaking of heartsthatserve.org? You cancelled that domain, so you no longer own it.

    Cancelled domains are not released immediately, and it can take anything from a few days to over a year before a cancelled domain becomes available again, if at all. You should never cancel a domain that you still want to use, as there’s no guarantee that you’ll be able to use it again somewhere else in future.

    In this case your domain should be released again towards the middle of next week, at which point you should be able to register it somewhere else as a new domain.

    We can also still restore it to your account, but then you won’t be able to transfer it until you’ve owned it for at least 60 days – all new domains, no matter where you buy them, and all recently transferred domains, have a mandatory 60-day lock during which the owner cannot transfer the domain.

    Please let us know if you prefer to restore the domain, or if you’re going to wait for it to be released.

    Hi there,

    Since you decided to wait, I went ahead and refunded you the domain registration as well.

    Canceled domains are released within a week, but it’s something we don’t control and therefore we cannot provide you with an exact date.
