Deleting Posts Without Admin
-
Hello! I am posting this on behalf of my friend. She writes on a video game blog, but it just got exposed that the owner has done some pretty shady stuff in the community. She wants to quit the blog, but she also doesn’t want her posts to remain on the site. She doesn’t have the ability to delete them herself. Is there a way for her posts to be deleted from the website without an administrator doing it? Maybe with the help of WordPress?

Hi there,
Do you mind sharing the URL of the site you are referring to?
Is this a WordPress.com hosted site?
Are they just an author on the site? If so, they have no control over removing their own posts.

The best bet is to ask an admin to do it for them – although, it doesn’t appear that they would be willing to so?

It has a paid “.com” domain. My friend took this screenshot of the dashboard: https://prnt.sc/oorkm1
Also, according to that page you linked, she should be able to delete her posts. “An Author can […] delete only their own posts, as well as upload files and images…” That’s odd.
And that’s correct, it’s doubtful an admin would delete her posts if she asked.

Per that screenshot, that is a self-hosted WordPress.org site, which we really can’t help with here.
To clear up any confusion, WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two different entities: http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
WordPress.org has complete documentation for self-hosted/installed versions of WordPress.org at https://wordpress.org/support/ and support at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
