  If I were to delete my blog, would I be able to use the same name and URL if I came back later?

  Hi there, once you delete a WPcom site, it is not be possible to reuse the address later.

  If you want to “take your site offline” you can change its privacy setting to Private. Here’s how you can do that https://en.support.wordpress.com/settings/privacy-settings/
