Deleting Site
-
Hello, I moved from a free WordPress website (www.thisfarmgirlcooks.wordpress.com) to a paid wordpress account at http://www.thisfarmgirlcooks.com). I want to make sure that if I delete the (www.thisfarmgirlcooks.wordpress.com) account, my other site thisfarmgirlcooks.com will remain active and online. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Personally I would leave things just as they are. http://www.thisfarmgirlcooks.com/ is with Bluehost and the similar-titled http://www.thisfarmgirlcooks.wordpress.com has been set to private so no one can ever see it again. If you delete the WordPress.com site there will then appear a placeholder message saying “www.thisfarmgirlcooks.wordpress.com is no longer available. The authors have deleted this site”. This message will stay on the Interweb until the end of time and could possibly confuse visitors Googling for your real site in the future.

Ahhh, I was thinking the old site was hurting my new site because it comes up ahead of it in the search rankings. I was also afraid it could confuse people.
In my mind I hoped it would just disappear off the face of the earth, haha. Thanks for the recommendation!

Typing thisfarmgirlcooks and your new site comes up first in the Bing search engine. Google still has the WordPress.com site in its cache but the more visitors you get to your new site the quicker it will move up and the old dead one will fall down the rankings.
