deleting webpage after domain change

  • Unknown's avatar

After losing my domain name (long story!), I’ve had to create a new domain and a new page, and I’m wanting to delete my old page. WordPress says go to settings, general and I’ll find a ‘delete my site permanently’ button, but surprise, it’s not there! Any ideas on what I can do to get rid of the site?

  • Hi there!

What’s the address of the site you’re trying to delete? You do not have any sites under your account here. If you can share some more details, we will be able to advise better. Thanks!

Yes, a number of circumstances meant I lost registration of my domain name and hadn’t looked at the site for quite a while. I’ve only just realised this and someone else now owns the domain. The site, however, still exists, although I can’t make any changes to it and there doesn’t seem to be a way to delete it. It’s http://www.sueellenpashley.com

    Thanks :-)

  • Hi there,

Unfortunately we can’t help directly because we don’t host sueellenpashley.com on our WordPress.com managed hosting. As a result, we can’t take a closer look at your site. From what I can see here, your site sueellenpashley.com appears to be hosted at Bluehost instead: https://gwhois.org/sueellenpashley.com+dns

To clarify, we are not connected to Bluehost (we are separate companies that both happen to offer WordPress sites) so I think it would be your best bet to contact Bluehost directly and see if they are able to assist you with gaining acces to the site and/or deleting it.

Hope this helps point you in the right direction!
