developing a website
-
We clicked on Word Press two days ago in order to produce a website. (it came recommended by someone we know.) Somehow through clicking next etc. we were connected with Siteground which we assumed was the route to progress. This is proving to be very difficult. It seems impossible to make contact with them. We have paid an annual fee and we were told that the process would be easy and painless. It is nothing but….HELP PLEASE.

Hi there, let’s try and get you pointed in the right direction for support. If you signed up with Siteground, it’s likely that your site is using the open source WordPress software and hosted with them, not here on WordPressdotcom.
It can be confusing, WordPressdotcom (where we are ) and WordPress are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
This support forum assists users of the WordPressdotcom platform. For help with a site using the open source WordPress software, you’ll want to head over to https://wordpress.org/support where they have more experience with the software you are using. If you don’t have a username on the ORG forums you can register one on the top of that page.
If you still are not sure where your site is hosted, let us know the address of the site you working on or do a WHOIS search at https://lookup.icann.org/ and look at the name servers. If the name servers say Siteground, you’ll want to head to the WordPress.org documentation and forums, or contact Siteground directly.
