Disabling wordpress core auto update

  We are having trouble disabling the core auto-update. We aim to preserve the look of our site by sticking to wordpress version 5.4.1 (instead of the new 5.5.1). We followed both installing plugin and editing the config file but our wordpress still reverts back to 5.5.1 after 24 hours of downgrade. Can someone offer an advice?

  You are in the wrong foruym as your site uses the open source wordpress.org. Their support is at https://wordpress.org/support/. But it’s a bad a idea to stick to an old version; plugins and themes must be compatible with wordpress, not the other way around.
